On July 8, 2009 a special Climate Hearing was held in London where parliamentarians from over 30 countries heard testimony from those feeling the effect a changing climate.
Each testimony in the hearing told a different story of climate change; from flooding, to drought, to hunger, to destroyed livelihoods. The impact of these stories on the politicians was clear – the room was visibly moved by the compelling accounts of their and their communities’ lives.
Watch a short video covering some of the testimonies from the day.
Oxfam will be helping take the voices of all the climate hearings direct to decision makers, including at Copenhagen when we, along with millions of people around the world, will be calling on world leaders to agree a fair and safe global climate deal.
